Chuck Arneson, owner of Eagle Rock Custom Creations is known in Red Deer and around Central Alberta as…. the “Rock Man”. This doesn’t surprise his spouse Bonnie, who has to only check her back yard occasionally to see the stray rocks and boulders Chuck sometimes stores there “temporarily”. It began with small boulder for the front yard to give some architectural interest in the area. Soon, there were rocks stored in nearby fields, garages, storage yards and other places we haven’t discovered yet.

 

Now, we’re not talking stones…..no, …boulders! Chuck is a crane operator in the oilfields, but he always had infinity for rock, stones and moving the earth around to suit himself. Rocks amuse, intrigue and pacify him…and he figured he wasn’t alone with this interest. Others must enjoy them too! Thus it started…all with a few rocks, er….boulders, in the back yard.

 

First, to appease his spouse, he decided to make a waterfall out of the rocks in the back yard, then a patio…then rocks sandblasted with numbers, names and animals. Soon the neighbors were asking…”can you do one like that for our yard?”

 

The word is out…the “Rock Man” has found his calling, and homeowners and businesses alike can avail themselves of a wonderful arrangement of rocks to suit their landscaping needs.
